!±8± Rap Artist - 3 Strategies to Make Independent Money Online

If you didn't know, more and more rap artist are turning independent rather than trying to get signed nowadays thanks to the internet. The internet has changed the game and the whole industry. And guess what? It is here to stay so you must adapt to the changing of times. This has opened the doors for more artist to share their talent. This article is intended to give you the core 3 strategies that you must follow to succeed in making money with your music online.

Step 1: Have quality product on hand

This step is fairly easy to understand. Basically you should have at the minimum 2 full albums worth of fully recorded songs. You should be working and finishing a new song at a minimum once a week These songs should be professionally recorded and professionally mixed and mastered. Now don't think you have to go to a famous studio or engineer and pay thousands of dollars per song. You can find reasonably priced studios and engineers to work with that will be able to get you that high quality "Hollywood" sound.

I can't stress enough how important quality and presentation are in this. The higher the quality, the more people will take you serious, and the more money you will make. So whatever you do, don't waste your time trying to get a professional sound out of a crappy home recording setup!

And don't forget to use hot high quality beats! Artist mess this up all the time, they will have hot lyrics but the beat will be mediocre. The beat and your lyrics must both be hot.

Step 2: Build your fan base!

Building fans is too easy now with all the social networking sites. All you really have to do is build a personal relationship with people to gain fans. Approach your fans like you would approach a friend. By doing this, you will see that the people who become your fans will tell their friends about you, and then it spreads and spreads or becomes "viral". Whatever you do, never spam them. Spamming can also become viral, but in a bad way.

What you should really be doing is building a mailing list, which is a service that allows you to stay connected with your fans. Mailing Lists allow you to write one email and send that same email to all of your fans at the same time. An example is say you had 10,000 fans on your mailing list, and you were dropping your album tomorrow, you could send all 10,000 fans an email saying your album is being released tomorrow.

Step 3: Market to your fans

The last core fundamental is marketing to your fans. This is the most critical part to making money online. You could have all the people in the world like your music, but if you don't know how to market it, you will never sell any of it. Everything you do that involves you communicating with your fans must be strategic and planned out. Here's an example out an album release marketing blueprint that I have my artist's doing and making great money.

- Create a YouTube channel and start an "Album Challenge"

- The challenge is to finish a full album in however many days you are comfortable with, usually 30- 50, and record the process everyday

- This creates the kind of "reality show" vibe, which is all people watch on television anyways

- While more and more people watch this, they become familiar with you and feel like they know you

- At the end of the challenge, you will release the finished album, and people will buy it because they feel like they were a part of the whole process of making the album.
